.....Oh I like it. Already feel a keen interest in Jay, want to read more about them all. I love how for the most part you write clean, and then add wonderful descriptions like "punched up strawberry face, soft boiled carrot nose".. My favourite part so far, "A lone owl called overhead; a silver squirrel raced home along a fence rail; a gate creaked open and clicked shut somewhere at the end of the block, beyond the lights - and Jay stood helpless and empty in an instant of sudden and utter peace." That is bloody brilliant!.....

.....Peter, I have just read MENTORS part one. Just like the two other readers who have commented, I think your writing is beautiful. Amazing. So, so, good. Congratulations. The story is very sad and gripping. Jay is so young, and so wrecked.....

.....Interesting read and unique sequencing of thoughts and events. I was drawn in by the opening paragraphs and found myself looking for the story line to take a different path than the one you have chosen…. But I kept reading and found part one to be interesting – wondering what part two will create......
