Mrs G.W. (Brinky) Whimstarky discovers bits and pieces of her gardener Romeo Castle in the compost bin at her Southey-On-Rye estate.

The local police are bamboozled.

What happened to the posthumus pruner and, more to the point.....

The local Coast Guard, Volunteer Fire Department and the island's Garden Club -in particular- are bamboozled as well, but also flummoxed.

And mystified. The mystery grows.

A grand adventure takes us from the heights of Galiano Island to the Sand Dollar shoals of Ruxton Island itself.  Pirates, environmentalists and food safe instructors clash in a deadly race against the clock...and the dock.

Can they nip it in the bud?

Will the brave efforts to unearth a dirty killer bear fruit?

And what of Brinky...will she at last win the First Place prize for her great big blooms at the upcoming Fair?
